Hey Everyone!

Today I went to my friend Jessi’s place and she had recently bought heaps of music on her iPod.

We listened to it and they were HEAPS cool songs.

Here is a list of some of the coolest songs right now:

Mistletoe by Justin Bieber – great song,  very heart to heart and gets you in the Christmas spirit way early.

Good Feeling by Flo Rida – awesome song, makes you wanna dance and sing… hard!

Tonight Tonight by Hot Chelle Rae – wooow! feel good song, great for kareoke.

Titanium by David Guetta & Sia – it makes you feel like when you hear it in the car on Nova 96.9 or 2DayFM you just wanna rip off your seatbelt and start DANCIN’ YOUR HEART OUT!!

Cinema by Benny Benassi – MY FAV SONG RIGHT THIS VERY MOMENT! As you know i just went to Bathurst for Year 5 camp to Bathurst and we were all belting it out.

Champaign Showers by LMFAO – listen to Nova 96.9? Once Jessi was listening to Nova and she heard Fitzy and Whipper calling up random places that might have “showers” mentioned in the call. They called the weather, knowing that it would rain in the Hunter Valley and asked what it’d be of course it was “showers”. Fitzy started saying like Red Foo and Sky Blu from LMFAO “Champaign Showers”, the aim was to stay on the phone for as long as possible. Then Whipper called up a Fitness First gym and asked what facilities they had were of course the answer was “treadmills, weights, spin classes, lap pool, change room… [etc.]” Whipper asked something along the lines of “what’s in the change-rooms” (dumb question hey?) and the answer: “toilets and showers” and then it came out: “CHAMPAIGN SHOWERS”!!!!!!

xx Dawso ‘n’ Jessiiiiiii!!! :D

Hello there,

Well on the 25th of October I went to Bathurst! We had to get up very early to head off!  My class and I had to be at school by 6:50 in the morning! We left on a big bus and I was partners with Angie. We stopped firstly at the three sisters at about 11:00. They are three big rocks side by side. Here is a photo of them-

We then hopped on the bus and went to the Jenolan Caves. They were amazing! We went into Lucas Cave! It is a cave made out of Limestone. They were really fascinating and had 609 steps. It was fantastic. I loved it and I would be very happy to go back there! Here is a photo-

As I said, they were amazing! We then got to Bathurst Goldfields! We got put into a motel were I was in a room with Emma, Sammy and Sarah! It was great! We then went and had some dinner. For dinner we had Chicken, chips, carrots and beans. We then went outside and danced and sang around a campfire!
Campfire singing (mp3)

So that is my whole class singing! My teacher took that for us! Isn’t she great!  We then went to bed and rose again the next day! We had breaky and got on with it! We had a tour of the goldfields and did some very interesting activities. We learnt all about the environment, tools, houses, jobs, washing and cooking! We played old fashioned games, cooked damper, created mud bricks and had fun! We then went gold panning! I wasn’t so lucky, I only got one tiny speck but it was heaps of fun!  We then had lunch which consisted of sausages sandwiches with onion, a popper, two biscuits and a nice big twirl! YUM! After that we looked at mine shafts and different machinery! It was great and we learnt heaps! We did a little bit of shopping where I brought,

A koala that was wearing a jacket that said Bathurst Goldfields,

A little souvenir and a present for my sister. We then got on the bus and watched a movie. It was called Kicking And Screaming. Here is the trailor. It was really funny and I highly recommend it.

Overall it was a great excursion. One of the best! I really thank Mrs Miller and Mrs Thomas! THANKS!

Hi,

Well for the Student Blogging Challenge 7 we were asked to be CREATIVE! I have visited a few websites and shown my creativity! Here it is!

The first website I visited was called This is sand.  It is a really cool website! You can be really creative there! If you visit the website you need to wait for it to load and click on the grey square in the top left-hand corner! Here is what I created-

Pretty good isn’t it? I suggest you try it! It is really fun!

The next website I tried was called Artpad. I created a picture that is very creative! Do you like it? Well here it is…

The next one I tried was another creative website. It was a writing one called Wacky Web Tales! Here is my story-

The Perfect Day Show

Lady Gaga: Welcome! This is “The Perfect Day Show”! On this show, contestants describe how they would spend their perfect day. Then the audience votes on whose perfect day sounds like the most fun. The contestant with the most votes will win a free trip toAustralia, along with 23 shoes. Okay, let’s get started. Contestant Number One, what is your perfect day?

Contestant Number One: Well, Lady Gaga, first I would watch Smurfs a few times. Then I would make chicken soup for lunch. In the afternoon, my friends and I would go walking.

Lady Gaga: Wow! Contestant Number One, that does sound like fun. Okay, Contestant Number Two?

Contestant Number Two: First I would put on my blue shirt. Then I would gather all my favorite toys . Together, we would take a trip to the candle Adventure Park, where we would go swimming.

Lady Gaga: And there you have it, TV audience. Let’s count the votes. It looks like Contestant Number Two is our winner. Congratulations! Is there anything you would like to say, Contestant Number Two?

Contestant Number Two: My head is spinning! I’ve dreamed of going to Australia for so long!

So that is my creativity! Stay tuned for more!

Posted by dawso | Posted in Uncategorized | Posted on October 21, 2011

Hi Everyone,

Well this week we had a public speaking competition. On Wednesday everyone in my class had to write a speech on these topics-

Racism, its not funny,

If I lived 100 Years Ago,

My most important life lesson,

Laughing Is the best medicine,

I chose the topic Racism It’s Not Funny. Our teacher Mrs Miller had to choose 2 people to go into the Semi-Finals against other girls in year 3-6. I got chosen to go through!

I then did my speech for the Semi-Finals. We got topics to chose from. They were-

My most unforgetable journey,

One small step,

Always look on the bright side.

I chose the topic My most unforgettable journey. I made up a journey. Four people then got into the Finals! I got in and I don’t know how! But I will then go into the Finals in a week! I am really happy with how I went!

Hi Everyone

So far this is our story first is from me, second is from Charlotte and third is from Teegan!

CRASH! Sarah woke straight away to hearing a big, loud noise! BOOM! What was that, she thought! SMASH, what is going on? Sarah jumped out of bed to investigate what was going on. As Sarah went downstairs she saw that all of the lights were turned on. What is going on???Sarah’s thoughts were getting tangled up and lost. What in the world is that? She thought! Is it an alien? No aliens don’t exist. Am I dreaming? What is going on? Little rainbow things about 1/2 a meter tall were whizzing around the house. In fact Sarah thought that they could have been anything. They went so fast Sarah could barely see them! Sarah thought that she was out of her mind. It was 2 a.m. in the morning. I’ll just get  a glass of water and it will all go away. Breathe in and out Sarah! You are not going insane! You aren’t crazy!  As Sarah walked into her kitchen she found about 50 whizzing around looking for food! What on earth is happening!

What on earth’s happening? Sarah tried pinching herself to wake up but they were still there! She washed her face and have a cup of water. She was so confused! she decided that she would go back to bed and read… She jumped up the stairs three at a time. Once she got upstairs again she found the little whizzing things had infested her room! She hopped down stairs and got the broom from the laundry cupboard
(Luckily, it wasn’t infested yet!) and ran to the pantry and tried whacking them. That didn’t work either… The broom went right through them! Hmmmm… Sarah thought, So the fly and are rainbow and are 1/2 a meter tall and are so fast! She sat on the kitchen stool and tried to concentrate but the Whizzing things were too distracting! She looked around and found……

She looked around and found rearing up in front of her a massive scaly creature that had emerged from the infested pantry. Sarah screamed and sprinted off down the street with the creature in close pursuit gaining fast.she heard a sudden crash! Sarah couldn’t believe her eyes….

Lets continue!!! Who is up to the challenge?

What My Class Are Doing…

1

Posted by dawso | Posted in Uncategorized | Posted on October 19, 2011

Hi People that decided to visit my blog!

I am doing this for the STUDENT BLOGGING CHALLENGE! In my class at school we are being helpful! We are raising money that will go to the TEAR fund. We are trying to gain enough money to build a school in a country where they are less fortunate to have schools and education. I think that it is very important to have a education. If it wasn’t for education, I wouldn’t be here, blogging right now. I can’t even imagine what I would be doing. We are so grateful to have our education!

On to another topic…

Racism.

For a public speaking competition we got to choose out of four topics what we wanted to talk about. I chose Racism, it’s not funny! I thought that it was a great topic! It isn’t funny at all! It is a horrible, mean thing to do or be! For more info, send me a comment!

Thanks for visiting my blog!

How To Make A Gold Mask?

3

Posted by dawso | Posted in Uncategorized | Posted on October 18, 2011

Hi,

Well in my class we have a student teacher called Miss Dodd. She taught us how to make these masks. We then had to write a procedure about it. Heres mine:

Materials-

Art Smock

Messy Mat or newspaper

Paper Mask

Cardboard

Pencil

Scissors

Masking Tape

Newspaper

Paste

Paint Brush

Gold tissue paper

String

Gold Paint

Sequins

Gold glitter

Gold ribbon

 Method:

  1. Make sure your work space is clear so that you don’t get your desk and items ruined by glue or paint.
  2. Put on an art smock and get your messy mat out.
  3. Place the cardboard/paper mask onto your desk.
  4. Collect your pencil, scissors and the cardboard.
  5. Trace your mask onto the cardboard. Create a design that comes off the mask i.e. A crown. Make sure that you leave about 3cm so that you can stick it onto the mask with ease. Make sure that in your 3cm you cut triangles to place on the inside of the mask for an even easier way to stick it on your design.

TIP- You can get great stencils and ideas for designs from Google Images or Bing. There are many other websites that you can use.

  1. Cut out your design, remembering the 3cm gap. Place it on your mask in the position that you wish. Get 1 piece of masking tape as long as you need to stick it down.
  2. Stick some paste on top of the masking tape, then put a small piece of newspaper on top then put glue over the top of that, then continue with 2-3 layers of newspaper this way. Cover the bottom of your mask so that it is strong and a little of the design after the mask so that it has the same level.
  3. Wait until it is completely dry to start this next step.
  4. Get your paste and the gold tissue paper. Paste the mask thoroughly putting little bits of paper on to the paste. Paste over the top and continue 3-4 more times If you want to place some string underneath the gold tissue paper, it will make that stand out more creating bumps.

TIP- The smaller the paper the more realistic and gold the mask will look.

  1. If you want to add string gently on top then you can do that to. To do that you need to finish pasting down your gold tissue paper and add some string on to the desired area. You can use PVA glue. It would be best not to use the paste as it will go gluggy.
  2. Wait until it is completely dry to do the next step. If you don’t the paper may rip and fall off, that will lose some of the effect.
  3. Add some gold paint carefully in the spots that are less gold so that it looks better.
  4. Wait until it is dry to complete the next step so that it doesn’t ruin the gold effect.
  5. Add sequins and glitter to your delight. Add what else you would like but stick to the theme of Ancient gold masks.
  6. Enjoy it!

Did you try it? Do you know any good art that I could put up? Leave me a comment!

Thanks,

Dawso
